and here, i thought my kid wasn't a genius
Celia is going through a phase of trying to rhyme phrases, words and sweet-ass beats. Usually, I nod and say "yep, you are getting there" and then we go on our merry way.
Today, while in the car with the whole-damn family on a trek to a Pirate birthday party, Celia was whole-heartedly working on her new mad skillz.
"Hey, guys! Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba, Buck-ET.......
Rhymes with Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa, Fuck-IT!"
WELL..... One can NOT argue with this new and amazing discovery.
I only pray to GOD, my dead grandmother didn't hear this revelation. May she NOT send a lightening bolt to strike me down due to my exemplary parenting skills.
AWESOME!!!!

Oh, how I can relate! My 4yo plays with "rhymes" too and drops the f-word "on accident" often. However, we don't think it was an accident when he looked at his uncle a few weekends ago and said, "Well, you're no fucking help!"

That's hilarious. You shouldn't stifle her flow, though...she could be the next Salt 'n/or Pepa!

Thank-you for posting this. I really needed a laugh this week.

I'll still always remember when a kiddo I babysat regularly discovered the word "shit." He had heard it somewhere (Not from me, I swear! No pun intended, heh.) and he loved to run around the house sing-songing different variations. I so wish I had owned a video camera back then.

She is developmentally waaay ahead of where I was at her age, as the only swear I had mastered at that point was "dammit".

LOL! Thanks for the laugh!
Yeah, I hope death is actually nice and quiet. I hope I won't be getting running updates from my kids and future grandkids, eww.
