It's that time of year again. The time of year of hounding/hoarding costumes, goblins and ghouls. and no, I'm not trying to figure out what the children will be for Halloween but what WE are going to be for Halloween because seriously, what's more important? Okay, okay, the kids are more important but their outfits were purchased over a month ago. Go ahead and give me a high five or raise your evening/morning cocktail in my honor of preparedness. I know, I sometimes even scare myself.
Again, this is another year of "adult" parties in which we try to decide to be sexy devils or naughty wenches. Who am I fooling? We've never been these characters as we are NOT able to pull off these persons. Every year, we try to out do the year prior leaving the next year full of performance anxiety waiting in the wings.
As seen in a most auspicious pictorial viewing for your visual pleasure:
Raging postman and believe it or not, I was a very skinny some kind of fairy slut nymph (the only time of my life).
Also on a side note: We weren't dating at the time and let me tell you his angry postal mail carrier act made me swoon (of course not outwardly because I couldn't/WOULDN'T! let him know I was in lust with him at the time because WE WERE ON A BREAK!) because I have always liked a man in uniform.
1999:Blair Witch Project. We were back together and engaged. The idea came to Rich in 1.5 hours before a wild basement party. Man, I so missed this couple's parties of yore. Odd doesn't even seem to begin to describe their parties. In a good way of course.
"White Trash Couple" This inception/conception occurred during our first year of marriage. You know, the time in which we were both discussing what wedding gifts we were going to take with us after our divorce.....
Side note: believe it or not: I had bubble wrap around my ass and legs to achieve a "full-figured" look. Who knew I shouldn't have tempted fate in the near future.
2004: 8 months pregnant with Moira - Sharon (pre-liposuction) and Ozzy Osbourne. Yes, I'm VERY sober here but I DID win a new DVD player due to my sober trivia prowess.
2005: "Dodge Ball". I think the use of the Baby Bjorn for Rich's outfit was a killer move. Oh, my, God! Did I say "KILLER?" Hello, 1990's, pleased to reintroduce myself to you... also let me add, Rich spent 4 hours on our "Purple Cobra" logos to make sure the were "just right." You know, for the sake of artistic integrity and all.
2006: "Dog the Bounty Hunter. And no! That is NOT my actual rack. It just happened to be two drawers full of socks for your viewing delight.
2007: "Rock of Love" The Original Season. Notice the homemade camera and the intricately place pink glued hairs. and yes, the Poison t-shirt was chosen from my vast assortment of actually owned t-shirts.
2008: I was pregnant with Thalon and we happened to afflicted with the vomit bug. Nothing to report.
2009:? Octomom? Anna Nicole Smith (pre-TrimSpa days?) Really, anyone? Bueller? Ideas? before Saturday?
Thank you very much for your participation!
I have no ideas because you are the AWESOMESAUCE when it comes to costumes...you'll rock it no matter what.

Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love is one I've always wanted to do. If anyone could pull it off, it's you two.
The Dog the Bounty Hunter made me LOL. :)

John and Kate Gosellin

Last year my husband and I went as John and Lorena Bobbitt. Husband wore men's pajamas with a bloody crotch and I wore a long nightgown with blood smeared on it. I also carried around a bloody "penis" (artfully carved smoked sausage) in a plastic jar. Gross, I know.....but we got a lot of laughs and the men cringed. Have fun!

You guys ROCK with your costumes! My husband and I are SO not that cool! I have no ideas to give you.

Good evening. This post made me laugh out loud. Love it! I have no ideas...sorry. I do however like Amy's suggestion of John and Kate.

You two are so creative. My favorite one so far is Dog the Bounty Hunter. I am sure that you will come up with something fabulous that tops all the others.
Wish I had a cool idea but I don't.

Wow-I bow down to you! I thought I could rock a costume but holy cow! I hand my costume crown over....I love the Gosselin ideas, as well as the Bobbitts!

OMG Jon and Kate Gosselin for SURE. A blond reverse mullet and a tacky Ed Hardy shirt.... perfection. I await pics.

DUDE. Thank you so much for that walk down Halloween of yesteryear. AWESOME.
Ya, John and Kate would be priceless. Will think some more and get back with you. :)

OMG, they were all awesome but I have to say white trash couple was priceless!

Jon and Kate?
Pee Wee Herman and Miss Yvonne?
Fred and Wilma Flintstone?
I must add..... all of the costumes were awesome! I am most envious of Dogg the Bounty Hunter and the White Trash Couple outfits!

The funniest costume I have ever seen was Sonny and Cher...some parents from my kids school came dressed like that, they were hysterical...but you guys are BETTER!! I can't wait to see what you come up with....:-)

Oh wow! I loved all of the pics, but the white trash couple looked so real - the graininess of the pic and the colors - haha! It looks like it was taken out of Aunt Bertha's photo album!
I have no costume suggestions, but I think you both will look great, whatever you decide!
P.S. I've never commented before, but I read you all the time. Thank you for sharing your life with us blog readers, however ugly it may get. I admire you for your honesty, that is something most of this world lacks today - brutal honesty.

Ej and I always dress as freaky clowns. And we drive the kids in the golf cart from house to house. We have had alot of fun with it. However this year I have a costume brewing that I may wind up getting a beat down over.
BEST COSTUME EVER
Tanner was 4 and I bought him a ride along firetruck from toys R us (Oh did I get in trouble for that!) I bought him a firemans uniform on ebay and Ej sewed it to fit. Pixie, our dog, wore a jacket too. We followed Tanner in his firetruck (In the golfcart) door to door. People were taking pictures. Fun times!

Jumping on the Jon & Kate bandwagon...except you'll have to go different parties on different days :) I'm sure between your girls you could come up with 8 dolls to be the kids.
What GREAT Halloween spirit and imagination you have. My husband would sooner fall through a giant hole in the earth than dress up for Halloween. Boo.

How 'bout Nancy Pelosi and Rush Limbaugh?

I don't know whether to be more jealous of your fantastic costumes (seriously, white trash couple is awesome!) or the fact you get invited to grown-up Halloween parties. I seriously need to find some new friends, who do fun things like that.
