Right now I am working at the kitchen table. Believe it or not, I really do work! I have about four different jobs at any given time during the week. I really couldn't describe them to you because I really don't know what I do myself.
Tomorrow I am coordinating a luncheon for the girl's teachers and school. Please remind me next year, DO NOT VOLUNTEER FOR ANYTHING!!! Truthfully I asked to help not coordinate this shindig because people always slack their way through and I end up having to take up their end of their mess. It is looking like tomorrow will be more of the same crapola. I'll be the bitch who will be calling up assholes asking them where their damn bread is and why did you think four loaves would feed 50 people? I'll then have to run my ass off to get more while trying to work myself.
Bitches, man. I don't like dealing with them.

You are awesome. That is all.

My children are not yet in school but when they are I really hope there are mothers like you there and I hope I am lucky enough to find them.

I am going to hate it when my daughter goes to school. There's nothing that bugs me more than people who volunteer for stuff and then "forget." Of course, I'm going to annoy others too, as I will be the one who does exactly what I signed up for and doesn't get all fancy and creative. But I would totally bring enough bread. It just won't be in a wicker basket with new hand towels and giant bows.

Your work space and mine feel like they are in sync. I hope your volunteers come through for you today and you are pleasantly surprised by the way things turn out. One can always hope, can't they?

Your grandfather always said the first thing you learn in the Army, is NEVER volunteer. That is probably not a good thing always, since it is a commendable self-less act. Maybe you should just cut-back - or just volunteer to run the show, and do it yourself. You are "the boss"!!! And who dreamed up a monthly luncheon for teachers and staff??

You will have totally earned tha ubiquitous coffee mug that schools/scouts/churches hand out to volunteers at the end of the year for "job well done!"
I kept several as reminders of What Not To Do the following year. Sipped rum and coke from them for good measure.
You are a saint for heading up the luncheon on top of all else you do.

Jesus fed 5000 with 5 loaves of bread, so you should be fine. :)

Oh hell no. I have little to no tolerance lately in regards to working with others...unless they're willing to do all of the work.

After years of being the parent that ALWAYS ended up picking up the slack for all of the other parents in my children's school, I put my foot down this school year and retired all of my Room Mom/PTA/ SAC/overall volunteer duties.
I now contribute when asked but am no longer doing the asking or should I say, begging! It has been refreshing, I no longer dread phone calls or walking into the school. It has been hard and I have had many waves of guilt, but it was time.
Maybe I will join the " force" again in the future, but for this school year it has been a much needed break!
