February Photo a Day Challenge: Day 20 - Handwriting.
So I don't sign my checks this way though I do have to say, writing this way, signs quite a bit of checks for me.
This week in Moira's class, robots are the theme. They read a story about a robot and then had to come up with their own for a presentation today.
Could she at least try to be a little more animated?
Please pay special attention to her designer skirt that "Amberbot" needed at 9pm last night to complete the ensemble.
The funny thing about this kid is when she has something in her mind's eye and it doesn't come to fruition, the world literally stops spinning just for her. Well this is what she expects anyway. I'm also a full believer in having kids do their own projects. We'll help with glue and toxic paint otherwise, you are totally on your own. This isn't my project. I paid my dues in studio painting those 12 pictures in three days for a years worth of credit. You got learn to live by the gun too. Though with Moira, she totally has her own idea and you better not mess with it.
Rich and I look at each other and wonder where she got this mentality from. "Not me," I say but in truth, yea, she did.
Case in point. I went to a painting birthday party Saturday evening where you get to drink and paint what the instructor paints. The instructor came by and asked if I wanted help with the background and I sadly growled at him. Not because I had been drinking but because like Moira, this shit is mine and don't you dare mess with it.
In the end I'm sure my pride could have taken a hit and he could have messed with the mess but then it wouldn't have been my work, now would it?
I think we all need to be this way in our lives. Own up to your own work, problems, woes, shit and what-not and do it yourself. You then can only be disappointed in yourself. Not others.

I like your painting...but, I love Moira's robot!

Have you ever shared any of your art here before? If so, I've not seen it so had no idea that you are so artistically gifted. It's great!

I need you to give me handwriting lessons. I did thank you notes for B's school and they are embarrassing.

I like the way you think!
I think it is a great compliment to you as a mom, to see Moira following in your creative and determined footsteps.
Keep your eye on your visions and great things are possible.

I'm pretty sure others would still find a way to be disappointed in me.
That robot is fantastic! The way Moira is dancing around while wearing it makes me miss Soul Train.

This post feels deep, I love it. I wish I could write like that. It makes me want to come up with something so that I can hire you to do calligraphy. Maybe you could do my daughter's thank you notes envelopes?
Also, I'm really jealous of your artistic ability. I have issues drawing stick figures.

Sounds like we had the same studio art class. And I support your denying the teacher access to your work. All they do is mess it up and make it not your work.
