As I get older I would most like to revert back to my childish behavior. Okay, more childish behavior.
I want to have birthday parties where I dress up as a princess, drink lemonade and have little bitty pinkies up!sandwiches. Have a day where all things and subjects are about you. Selfish, boastful you. I want to be the age where you think it is wonderful to have a birthday and not cringe when accepting the fact you truly aren't youthful any longer. You don't turn heads anymore and you can barely turn your own due to a month-long kink. Because you are old.
Cinderella lied you know. There really is no "happily ever after...." She only thought so because she was young and what, 18? I can guaran-damn-tee, she would be pissed and sad she was turning 43 today too. She would say, Bippity-fucking-boppity-boo-hoo.

Happy Birthday!
Getting old does suck. I know I didn't sign up for all this crap.

Happy birthday! I think you should have a girly princess party. At the very least, wear a tiara and have a frothy pink cocktail. Also, the 40s are the new 30s! (Says the almost 42 year old.) Happy day to you, lady!

Happy birthday :-)

Here's my gift to you, as unoriginal as can be but true..."it's a great day to realize that you'll never again be as young as you are today!" If you're done gagging now, take this advice from one who's nearly 20 years older than you and have an AMAZINGLY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I did not just type Where instead of Wear! Uuggh. This is what happens to the brain in the 40's

Happy Birthday anyway! Think of it as a good excuse to be crotchety...if anyone questions your attitude, you can say "Fuck you. I'm old."

Happy birthday! I say we celebrate our getting old together (my birthday is Friday). Maybe we can get Monster to sponsor a party for us where free vodka and Monsters will be given to those who make us feel like we are 18 and smokin!

My birthday is Friday as well. I love birthdays, mine and everyone else's. I think that people should celebrate the fact you were born. However, ever since my relationship with my husband began (7 of them now), my birthdays have sucked! It has been forgotten, remembered with no present, remembered with a last minute gift from Alco, remembered with a gift that he made me feel guilty about and then the year he said he would take me to dinner and a movie and then never did. Not looking forward to Friday. Maybe I'll get to make my own cake again.

I wouldn't mind turning 43, but that might be because I'm 48. Or at least I think I am. I've had a hard time remembering my age for the last couple of years, and even though I know what year I was born, my aging brain has trouble doing the math. I blame the turn of the century. Anyway. Happy birthday.

I don't remember anything one way or the other about being 43. But I remember 45 ... my world kinda fell apart that year. By age 46, I was putting the pieces back together. Every year since has been better than the year before it. I'm 51 now it's my best year yet. I don't really love the reflection that looks back at me when I look in the mirror ... but as I was telling my son tonight, "If I just smile all of the time, you don't notice these cracks in my face (smile lines?)"!
Happy Birthday ... and may each year get just a little bit better than the year that preceded it!

I hear ya. If I had thought I would live this long (almost 53, I think) I definitely would have taken better care of my body. It's all falling apart. Hang in there.
Hope you had a decent birthday!

Very Happy Birthday to you!! Go ahead, have a Princess party....order the Princess cake, where a Cinderella dress and glass slippers. You deserve it....and if only for one day you get to feel young and carefree again, where's the down-side??
Have a great day, Princess!

HAPPY Birthday and I agree you should totally have a princess party. Bonus = adult beverages.

Happy Birthday! I vote for the adult princess party!!! My rule is that my birthday is ALL ABOUT ME ALL DAY!! Not that my 4 kids adhere to it, but in my mind, that is the rule! I'm 43 on the 14th and am totally flummoxed as to how I am in my 40's.
Peace and Strength and Happy MO FO BIRTHDAY!!!
xoxo, Shauna

Have something rockin' on your birthday! I wish I could share a post I saw on FB today. When I saw it I thought of you! There were two blood shot eyes and what looked like green waves trailing behind/around them. The headline was "I put Red Bull in my coffee pot this morning instead of water. Right now I can see noises! WOW, we've all had days like that! Enjoy it to the max!

I turned 40 last August, and I milked it dry!!! I wore a pink fuzzy crown all day long that said "Birthday Princess" even when my children nicely said "Mom, you can take that off now"
I hope your birthday was good to you :)
